As we begin the 2007 season for the Hamilton Thunderbird Baseball Club, you may already be familiar with the voice of our new Public Address Announcer, Paul Noon.
Paul had a long association and friendship with the Voice of Hamilton, Bill Sturrup. He began as a spotter for Bill with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club, and then he joined him on the CANUSA Games Board of Directors, first as a Director and later as President. Noon also became Sturrup's spotter with the McMaster Maurders Football Club and is now their Public Address Announcer.
His hockey involvement includes the Hamilton Kilty B's, Dukes of Hamilton Major Junior Hockey Club, and the Hamilton Red Wings Provincial Junior A Hockey teams recording their statistics. Recently he succeeded Bill Sturrup as Public Address Announcer for the Red Wings Hockey Club. In addition, he has been the Official Scorekeeper and Head of the Statistical Crew for the Hamilton Bulldogs and earlier the Hamilton Canucks Hockey Clubs of the American Hockey League.
On the diamond, Paul has worked with Hamilton Redbirds Single A Baseball Club in 1988, followed by the old Hamilton Cardinals for several seasons, and the Thunderbirds for the past two seasons. He has been a jack of trades with those organizations as standby announcer and scorekeeper, and scoreboard operator.
Paul welcomes the opportunity to work with the Thunderbirds, and looks forward to seeing you all at the ball park.
