Drew Brady, 46, was born in Hamilton and raised in Winona, Ontario where he played several sports, but is best known for his baseball abilities. Those abilities were such that he was invited to and participated in two Boston Red Sox Junior Camps at Pawtucket, Rhode Island in 1974 and 1975.

Brady graduated with Honours from Winona High School in 1979. He was chosen both the Junior and Senior Athlete of the Year, and was the recipient of the Bronze "W" Award.

He successfully completed an Honours Bachelor Degree in Outdoor Recreation at Lakehead University at Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1984. Drew is the owner and a player on the Stoney Creek Thunderbirds Vintage Baseball Team, and is the Presiden/Owner of the Hamilton Thunderbirds Intercounty Baseball Club.
