Game Summary:  Brantford Red Sox scored two runs in the eighth and three more in the ninth enroute to a 7-2 over the Hamilton Thunderbirds on Stoney Creek Little League T-Ball Clinic Day in  Intercounty Baseball League play this afternoon (Sunday) in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium .

Stefan Strecker went seven innings for the Brantford victory, allowing one earned run on five hits with one strikeout, and John Ogiltree finished up the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits  and two walks.  Jesse Reinstein took the loss for the Thunderbirds, allowing seven hits over seven innings with two strikeouts and two walks, Anthony Carlo and Chase Gaff worked in relief off the starter.  

 Lee Delfino cranked a two-run 360-foot home run home run over the right field fence in the ninth; he had two hits for the Red Sox, who moved into sole possession of second place with the win at seven wins and two losses.  Tyler Burnell had a triple and Josh McCurdy added three singles for Brantford.  Tom Robertson and Mike Bonanno both had two hits for the Thunderbirds.

Game Summary: In Stratford, Jon Roth hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning, lifting the Stratford Nationals to a badly needed 8-7 win over the Hamilton Thunderbirds.
The win keeps the Nationals faint playoff hopes alive as the Nationals won for just the fifth time in 30 games this season, moving 3 1/2 games behind the eight-place Thunderbirds for the final playoff spot.
Chadwick Cameron picked up the win with four innings of relief. He struck out six and walked three while allowing one run on four hits.
Doug Chrysler was the loser for the Thunderbirds, also going four innings. He allowed three runs on four hits with two strikeouts and a walk.
Scott Wells had two hits, a triple and a solo home run, for Hamilton in a losing cause.

Game Summary:  The Hamilton at Barrie game was suspended after six innings due an unplayable field following a rain storm. The score was tied at 4-4 at the time.
Barrie’s Paul Spoljaric (3-0) and Hamilton’s Chase Gaff (0-2) each pitched six innings. Spoljaric had allowed four runs on seven hits with a walk and five strikeouts while Gaff gave up four runs on eight hits with two walks and five K’s.
Richard Rausch had two hits for Hamilton including a solo home run while Richard Wright added a solo home run. Ryan Spataro had two hits, an RBI and two stolen bases for Barrie.
The game will be resumed in the seventh inning at a future date.

Game Summary: 

In Hamilton, Eric Kelly pitched 6 1/3 strong innings as the visiting Royals edged the Thunderbirds 5-4. Guelph scored four runs in the second inning to take the lead for good as the Royals moved over the .500 mark at 7-6 while the Thunderbirds dropped to 3-9. Matt Fortuna had two doubles to pace the 10-hit Guelph attack and also drove in a pair of runs for the winners.  Richard Rausch had two hits, including a double for the Thunderbirds. Hamilton made three errors and couldn’t get any closer than a run down after srallying from an early 4-0 deficit.  Kevin Whyte started and took the loss, lasting 5 2/3 innings and allowing all five runs, before reliever Scott Wells finished up with 3 1/3 shutout innings of relief.

Game Summary:

In Hamilton, the Oshawa Dodgers pounded out 17 hits to crush the Hamilton Thunderbirds 15-4 at Bernie Arbour Stadium.  Brandyn Agnew picked up the win in relief for the Dodgers, allowing one run on just two hits over 3 1/3 innings, striking out six and walking none. He had plenty of support, as the Dodgers blew the game open with 12 runs in the final four innings.  Nathaniel Smith had three hits and three RBI to pace the Oshawa attack, while Sean Cunningham also had three hits and stole two bases. Brendan Emmett added two hits and two RBI for the Dodgers.      Dariel Saucedo was the loser for Hamilton, allowing six runs – five earned – on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. He struck out two and walked two.  Tom Robertson had two hits for the Thunderbirds (3-10), while Richard Rausch had a double and two RBI.

Game Summary: 

Ryan Hart pitched six strong innings for his fifth win of the season, leading the Guelph Royals to a 9-2 win over  Hamilton Thunderbirds in the lone Intercounty Baseball League game Tuesday night.

               Hart (5-0) allowed two hits while pitching six shutout innings, striking out nine and walking three, as the Royals moved over the .500 mark  with an 8-7 while the Thunderbirds slipped to 3-11, just one game away from last place in the IBL. Three relievers completed the seven-hitter for Guelph .

              The Royals staked Hart to a 9-0 lead after six innings en route to the win, slapping nine timely hits off four Hamilton pitchers, including loser Jesse Reinstein, who started and went 4 2/3 innings. He allowed eight runs – seven earned – on seven hits with three strikeouts and five walks.

              Zack Dickson drove in three runs for the Royals with a pair of hits, while Andrew Karkoulas scored twice and had an RBI.  Kyle Leon added two hits for the Royals while Frankie Hare scored twice, singled and  picked up a RBI.

              Scott Wells drove in both Hamilton runs and Jerrod Wehri and Matthew Bekar had two hits apiece for Hamilton.

Game Summary:  The Toronto Maple Leafs pounded out 17 hits and rallied from a 5-4 deficit to beat the Hamilton Thunderbirds 12-5 Monday night in Hamilton, the Leafs fourth win in their past five games, in the lone IBL game.
Jeremy Walker hit a three-run homer and Joe Colameco added a solo shot and four hits for the Leafs, who improved to 14-18.
Mike Lynch picked up the win on the mound, going seven strong innings. He allowed five runs – four earned – on five hits with 11 strikeouts and five walks. Mark Sikorski and Jeff Reeves both added a scoreless inning of relief.
Kyle Degrace added three hits for the Leafs, while Danny Gibbons, Walker, Ryan Fosbury and Bryan Condotta all added two hits each for Toronto.
Kevin Whyte started for the Thunderbirds and went six innings. He allowed five runs on nine hits, striking out three and walking three, before reliever Anthony Carlo took the loss. Carlo allowed four unearned runs on four hits over two innings.
Henry Duke homered and had two hits for the Thunderbirds, who slipped to 8-24 with the loss. John Saporsantos also had two hits for Hamilton.

Game Summary:n Hamilton, The Hamilton Thunderbirds paid tribute to the 1978 Intercounty Baseball League champion Cardinals on Saturday afternoon at Bernie Arbour Stadium, but the 2008 edition of the IBL team came up a little short.  Jess Bechard had four hits, including a two-run homer in the sixth inning, to lead London Majors to an 8-7 win over the Thunderbirds.  The Majors pounded out 13 hits in the win, as David Narodowski also homered, a solo shot in the eighth, and had three hits, a double and a single along with his home run. Kevin Virtue and Mason Reilly both added three hits for London (10-4).  Pierre Miville-Deschenes picked up the win in relief, tossing four innings. He allowed one run, it was unearned, on four hits with two strikeouts in relief of starter Geoff Mann, who went five innings and allowed six runs.  Zac Staniewicz started for the Thunderbirds and allowed five runs – three earned – over 7 2/3 innings, but it was reliever Rob Foscaein who took the loss, charged with three runs – one earned – in 2/3 innings.  Staniewicz had three hits at the plate for Hamilton, including a double, while Richard Rausch added two hits. Jesse Robertson hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Henry Duke blasted a three-run shot in the fifth for Hamilton

Game Summary:

In Hamilton, Henry Duke drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning with a single, leading the Hamilton Thunderbirds to a 4-3 win over the Brantford Red Sox.

            Duke’s single scored Richard Rausch from third base with the winning run, making a winner of reliever Chase Gaff, who ced one batter and struck him out in the top of the ninth inning with two outs and the bases loaded.

            Scott Wells started for the Thunderbirds and allowed three runs – one earned – on five hits over five innings. Geoff Allen, Jerrod Wehri and Jon Smith all had two hits for the Thunderbirds, who won for just the fourth time this season.

            Tyler Burnell had a double and a triple for the Red Sox, while Wayne Foreman also had a pair of hits for Brantford (11-7).

            Scott Robinson went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits, with Jeff MacLeod taking the loss in relief.
