History of the IBL In 1919, the Inter-County launched its inaugural season. The league consisted of four teams, Galt, Guelph, Stratford and Kitchener, the latter operating as a rival for the pro team in the Michian-Ontario League.

History of the Hamilton Thunderbirds In 1958, the Hamilton Beavers joined the Senior Inter-County Baseball League, but in 1962, Listowel, Hamilton (re-named the Cardinals in 1960) and St. Thomas dropped out of the league.
